- My husband and I visited your beautiful city this past summer and had a wonderful time. I'm still trying to find any relatives I might have in the Letterkenny Area. My Great-Great Grandfather William McCarron came to America in 1837 to work in the DuPont Gun Powder Mills of Delaware. When he left the Letterkenny area he had two small children and a wife named Rosanna (Gibbons). They joined William in Delaware the following year. If you have any information about my ancestors, please reply to this email. Thanks! Lou (McCarron) Sears

- sent to me from over seas To: ELEANOR MCINDOE Sent: Thursday, February 12, 2009 5:13 PM Subject: hi ella can you help Trying to find out about my Doherty family of Upper Drumhallagh, Donegal. My family come from Upper Drumhallagh. I spent summer holidays as a young child running around the farm, helping Great Aunt Rose and her brother Eddie collect eggs and milk the cow. The farm had been in family hands for a long time and the original house was to be seen. My Great Grandparents built the later 2-storey house. On holiday from Australia, where I lived, I visited Rose, a kind and remarkable woman, in a hospital/nursing home near Upper Drumhallagh. She died soon after. I want to find out when Rose and her brother Eddie/Edward died and ANYTHING else about my family. I want to find out which Catholic cemetery they are buried in. About 1870`s Denis Doherty married Bridget Shovelin. Know nothing about them or their parents. Children Winifred 1877-1965, Bridget 1880-1970, (my Gran), Catherine 1892-1988, all died in Glasgow and I know about their lives there. Edward 1895-1970`s, Rose 1899-1982ish. Lived all their lives in Upper Drumhallagh, never married and died in or near Upper Drumhallagh. Death dates a guess. Any help would be most gratefully received. Kindest Regards Frances
